About Our School

We Welcome You to the Sunset Canyon Family, Home of the Gray Wolves!

Sunset Canyon joined PVSchools in August of 1999. Our teachers focus on teaching the Arizona State Standards, and also emphasize the importance of the art and sciences. Teachers use innovation and creativity when teaching lessons that adhere to the standards and Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards (AZCCRS). Students also understand the relationship between science and their everyday lives because of the hands on activities in the classrooms.

At Sunset Canyon, students and teachers follow the philosophies of Conscious Discipline in regards to citizenship and respecting themselves and others. We are part of a diverse community of learners, where students learn tolerance and acceptance and where we believe that every child has the right to come to school and feel safe.

Average class size is 26, and special area classes include physical education, art, music, band and strings. Students have access to iPads in their classrooms and laptops and desktop computer labs on a regular basis.
